Summary
The Association of Hispanic Arts (AHA)—a nonprofit arts service organization—is seeking an effective, dynamic and charismatic Marketing & Communications Director on a part-time basis (up to 20 hours per week) who has excellent verbal and written communication skills and can successfully articulate AHA’s mission and programmatic efforts. This position will require the potential candidate to plan and manage all publicity, promotional events, internal information programs, as well as the management of AHA’s website—www.latinoarts.org.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Communications Director will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that support AHA’s mission and enhance the organization’s public image. The Marketing Director will also be responsible for coordinating the marketing efforts for AHA’s programming and website.

The Marketing Director will work collaboratively with AHA’s programming partners and other key community entities to strategically promote AHA’s programming and public image.

Successful candidates should speak and write Spanish fluently, be energetic high-performers who impress us with their drive, strategic thinking, commitment to results, ability to learn quickly, and interest in Latino arts and culture.

Examples of duties and responsibilities:
• Develop multi-tier strategic marketing and public relations program in accordance to AHA’s mission and objectives.
• Content management and updating of AHA’s website—www.latinoarts.org—as a key component of AHA’s marketing and outreach efforts.
• Periodically act as a spokesperson for AHA, representing the Executive Director at community meetings, media interviews, company meetings, and at local, state, and national functions.
• Plan and direct advertising, public relations, promotional campaigns and strategies, including but not limited to the production and direction of radio or audiovisual productions and printed publications (electronic newsletters, bulletins, pamphlets, directories and posters).

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be bilingual (English/Spanish) with a broad knowledge of the Latino arts and cultural community. Additionally, the ideal candidate must:
• Have an undergraduate degree, plus up to three years of professional level experience in the research, written preparation and dissemination of information to the public through such media as publications, broadcasting or public speaking.
• Have knowledge of personal contacts with representatives of both electronic and print media.
• Possess excellent written and communications skills in both Spanish and English.
• Possess excellent computer skills, including expertise in Acrobat Reader, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Outlook.
